The great Roman civilization which has experienced golden years has disappeared. Even in India, from the collapse of the great Mughal empire to the persistence of poverty and breeding of corruption(According to the world bank report, still is 21% of the total population lives in poverty and India is known as home of second most poor population of the world) even after seventy two years of independence. The reason for the above mentioned circumstances and situations is THE FATAL TRIANGLE - POLITICS, BUREAUCRACY AND BUSINESS. First we must understand HOW this triangle converted to vicious triangle. Not let us discuss this in detail one by one.
According to ancient philosophers, there are two governments, one is legitimate and the other is perverse. The difference is that legitimate works for the public and the perverse works for their interest. When the country is ruled by the perverse then the values such as integrity, honesty, commitment, sincerity etc will not be followed by the governing leaders of the country. When the leaders of the community upholds narcissism, either they influence government employs or put pressure on them to be loyal to their masters instead of being loyal to the public. Thus, it breaks the code of conduct of public office and also code of ethics. These type of political structure and administrative structure(bureaucracy) act as breeding ground for the laissezefaire capitalism where businessmen turn as predictors because they are given free hand to administrate market activities. Thus, this general triangle turns vicious.
Now we see what makes this vicious triangle turn to fatal. Corruption through bribes will increase, which will increase nepotism in projects. This fetches huge loss to the government. Thus this vicious triangle will become fatal to the credible investors. This relationship will create business to the capitalists to influence the government policy making. Thus, the government policies will be failed to inculcate humanistic values. This results in breakdown of concept of welfare and sustainability. Thus this triangle becomes fatal to environment. Example - Congo, Amazon forests have been clearing for the minerals and plantation of crops. They have been affecting indigenous people and environment as Amazon forest is known as 'Lungs of the Earth'.
In this vicious triangle society, government will not be able to control the process. Thus prices of basic needs such as shelter, health, food, education, etc will be exorbitantly high. Thus it becomes fatal to the aspirations of poor. Example - Commercialization of health and education in India is the greatest reason for higher education. The high rate of corruption and nepotism will make accessibility of the government service difficult. As a result poor become poorer and rich become richer. This increases inequality, which leads to fatal consequences such as hate, crime and revolts in these different sections of society.
This vicious relationship breeds forces like Naxalism, Extremism, etc. Thus, nexus among these three bring threat to the internal security of the country, thus, it becomes fatal to the country's security. Thus, we learn how this vicious triangle turn to fatal triangle. However, not always the relationship between them(Bureaucrats, businessmen and politicians) leads to a fatal triangle.
If the politics upholds public interest, then bureaucracy will be forced to uphold public interest. This makes business follow professional ethics. Example - India has allowed private investment but has not allowed to exploit laborers through the strict labor laws. The government by realizing, observing and analyzing the impact of vicious triangle has taken initiatives to avert the relationship among these three becoming as vicious. There are e-governance, social audit law and decentralization(73rd and 74th amendment to the constitution) to bring accountability and responsibility in the administrative process.
